The short version
First swing with the Bonobos Highland Golf Pant and there is enough give that I can squat to read a putt without thinking about it. Four rounds and a wash later they still held their crease. The catch: the waistband relaxes a little by the back nine.
How it played
I put it in play for 9 rounds and never babied it — wet mornings, baked-out afternoons, the lot. What I keep coming back to is that there is enough give that I can squat to read a putt without thinking about it. Where it bit me: the waistband relaxes a little by the back nine — worth knowing before you spend the money.
How it looks
Smart enough for the clubhouse, and not a cargo pocket in sight. I care less about that than how it feels, but it does not hurt.
What won me over
- they keep their shape after washing
- the stretch never fights the swing
- they shed light rain
Good to know before you buy
- the leg length options are limited
- light colours mark easily
My verdict
7.6/10 from me. If you go straight from the course to somewhere else, the Bonobos Highland Golf Pant earns its spot in the bag. If the leg length options are limited is a dealbreaker for you, keep looking.
