8.9/ 10

The short version

Two holes in with the Greyson Icon Polo I knew: the fabric moves with the swing instead of pulling across my back. It came out of the bag after a hot round without that stale-shirt smell. The catch: it wrinkles in the car if you leave it folded.

How it played

Straight into the bag for 5 rounds with no easing-in period. What I keep coming back to is that the fabric moves with the swing instead of pulling across my back. Where it bit me: it wrinkles in the car if you leave it folded — worth knowing before you spend the money.

How it looks

Cut like a normal shirt rather than a billboard. I care less about that than how it feels, but it does not hurt.

What won me over

  • it stays cool through a hot round
  • the cut is athletic without being tight
  • the collar keeps its shape after washing

Good to know before you buy

  • the colours are conservative
  • the length runs a touch short

My verdict

8.9/10 from me. If you want to look tidy without playing in a sauna, the Greyson Icon Polo earns its spot in the bag. If the colours are conservative is a dealbreaker for you, keep looking.
