Greyson Montauk Trouser Review

Trousers · 11 rounds in my bag

9.2/ 10

The short version

Two holes in with the Greyson Montauk Trouser I knew: there is enough give that I can squat to read a putt without thinking about it. Four rounds and a wash later they still held their crease. The catch: the waistband relaxes a little by the back nine.

How it played

Straight into the bag for 11 rounds with no easing-in period. What I keep coming back to is that there is enough give that I can squat to read a putt without thinking about it. Where it bit me: the waistband relaxes a little by the back nine — worth knowing before you spend the money.

How it looks

Smart enough for the clubhouse, and not a cargo pocket in sight. I care less about that than how it feels, but it does not hurt.

What won me over

  • the stretch never fights the swing
  • they shed light rain
  • the pockets hold a scorecard and phone properly

Good to know before you buy

  • light colours mark easily
  • the waistband relaxes over 18 holes

My verdict

9.2/10 from me. If you go straight from the course to somewhere else, the Greyson Montauk Trouser earns its spot in the bag. If light colours mark easily is a dealbreaker for you, keep looking.
