9.4/ 10
The short version
It costs a mortgage payment and it is still worth doing once. The stretch from 6 to 10 along the cliffs is the best five-hole run I have played anywhere.
How it played
The greens are tiny and the wind off the water makes every approach a half-club guess. Short irons matter more than driving distance here — I hit 4-iron off three tees and never regretted it.
How it looks
Small greens, cypress trees and the Pacific hanging off the right side. It looks exactly like the television and somehow bigger.
What won me over
- holes 6 through 10 are worth the fee on their own
- caddies are worth every dollar
- greens roll perfectly even late in the day
Good to know before you buy
- the price is genuinely absurd
- five and a half hours is normal
My verdict
9.4/10. Do it once, save for it, don't argue about the money afterwards.
