SIGPRO Softy Hitting Mat Review

Simulator · 10 rounds in my bag

7.7/ 10

The short version

Pulled the SIGPRO Softy Hitting Mat out on the first tee and hitting into it feels like a real golf shot, not a video game. Two hours in there in February kept my strike honest all through the winter. The catch: the impact noise will not make you popular with the rest of the house.

How it played

I gave it 10 rounds before writing a word, including two in proper wind. What I keep coming back to is that hitting into it feels like a real golf shot, not a video game. Where it bit me: the impact noise will not make you popular with the rest of the house — worth knowing before you spend the money.

How it looks

It looks like a proper piece of kit rather than a bedsheet on poles. I care less about that than how it feels, but it does not hurt.

What won me over

  • the frame is rigid with no wobble
  • it takes a full driver swing without flinching
  • setup instructions are actually clear

Good to know before you buy

  • it is loud for a shared house
  • you need real ceiling height

My verdict

7.7/10 from me. If you want to keep playing when the course is shut, the SIGPRO Softy Hitting Mat earns its spot in the bag. If it is loud for a shared house is a dealbreaker for you, keep looking.
