Golf Bag · 6 rounds in my bag

9.2/ 10

The short version

First swing with the Sun Mountain 2.5+ and it sits on my back without pulling to one side, even walking 18 on hills. I walked four rounds with it and never once had to shuffle the straps. The catch: the top dividers are tighter than the spec suggests once a full set is in.

How it played

I put it in play for 6 rounds and never babied it — wet mornings, baked-out afternoons, the lot. What I keep coming back to is that it sits on my back without pulling to one side, even walking 18 on hills. Where it bit me: the top dividers are tighter than the spec suggests once a full set is in — worth knowing before you spend the money.

How it looks

Clean panels, good stitching, and it does not look like camping gear. I care less about that than how it feels, but it does not hurt.

What won me over

  • the rain hood is not an afterthought
  • the strap balance is genuinely comfortable walking
  • the pockets are where my hands already go

Good to know before you buy

  • a full set makes the dividers feel tight
  • it is heavier than the lightest carry bags

My verdict

9.2/10 from me. If you walk more than you ride, the Sun Mountain 2.5+ earns its spot in the bag. If a full set makes the dividers feel tight is a dealbreaker for you, keep looking.
